Property Restrictions Voting
Wednesday, June 17th to Thursday, December 31st
To All LVPOA Members,

In the weeks since the LVPOA Annual Meeting, we have received numerous questions regarding the vote on proposed changes to our Property Restriction, specifically when and where voting will occur.

As per Clinton County requirements, voting on such matters must be done in person via signature from the deed holder(s). In cases of married couples, a spouse’s signature must also be obtained, even if they are not on the deed, due to Michigan statutes on marital property. As part of this process, board members must verify the ID of every member prior to obtaining a signature. Plans were in the works for facilitating this year's vote, however in light of the current national emergency and the Governor's 'Stay Home, Stay Safe' executive order, these plans are being delayed. Please bear in mind this decision did not come lightly but we feel it be the best way to keep our residents safe.

As soon as the executive order is lifted and 'normal life' resumes, voting can resume on this critical issue. At that time, we will communicate the details on when and where you may cast your vote, including opportunities to meet your neighbors and talk more about the changes. These details will also include the window within which votes must be cast, should the October deadline set at the Annual Meeting need to be delayed.

Additional information regarding the proposed changes is available on the Proposed Property Restrictions page. We appreciate your flexibility and understanding during this difficult time. Please know that if you have any questions or concerns that your LVPOA Board members are here to assist.

Sincerely,

The LVPOA Board
