There has been a lot of discussion over the use of the fire station on Jason Road.  Currently the fire station is not in use and has not been used for many years.  On behalf of the Township Board I have asked LSW to conduct a study on the need and feasibility of using the old station 4.  I have asked LSW to look at staffing, equipment and other issues involved in opening and maintaining old station 4. A key statistic in evaluating our fire and rescue services is response times.  Under CAFR response times had risen to unacceptable levels with times between 15 and 20 minutes being common. Since we signed the contract and became active on June 15th we have seen a dramatic improvement in our response times.  A LSW report from June 15 – January 31 showed an average response of approximately 7 minutes and a half.  I’ll continue to work with the Lake Board as the LSW completes their study.
